Looking for the answers. . . . . . . . . .

Engineers Day is celebrated in India on 15th Sept every year to remember and bestow highest regards to our Sir. M. Visvesvaraya, the builder of technical India. The day is chosen as it falls as the birthday of Sir Visvesvaraya. Thus sept 15th is celebrated as Engineers Day.

The Bharat Ratna awardee, Visvesvaraya was born on September 15, 1861 in a village called Muddenahalli in Karnataka.

Sir Visvesvaraya was literally the “Builder of India''. He was force behind building of many dams and water systems in India. His engineering visions were to make more irrigation facilities in the country as well as ensure that our national rivers and rain water do not create problems for people and save their fields from floods. We acknowledge his genius approach in harnessing the water resources and consolidation of dams across the country.

Sir M. Visvesvaraya has worn many hats during his luminous lifetime. He was known as India's most intelligent engineer, economist, dam builder and statesman. In his tenure of being the Diwan of Mysore from 1912 to 1918, he completely transformed the state into a place which was then known as a “Model State” and he is known as “Father of Modern Mysore”.
